Clarins Passion Christmas Collection 2011

Clarins Christmas 2011

Clarins Christmas collection for 2011, the Passion collection, is small but pretty darn sweet. It's a four-piece edit that contains a stand-out face powder (we've already had a goo at it over in this post and you can see how it performed against its competitors), a cute padded and zippy face case, one neutral lippy and a quad for eyes.

This is the kind of thing that's perfect for Christmas gifting and at €40, really well priced. The casing is sturdy, padded and well secured with a good zip, so you can throw and go. Four shadow shades, a big blush, mini mascara and gloss plus some brushes and a decent mirror round up the offering. Lots of people would be bleedin' delira to unwrap this one, I think.

The Eye Quartet Minerale Palette in 07, €40, is another one of the brand's newish shadow quads that can be used wet and dry. This contains lovely neutrals and the silvery colour is a surprisingly gleamy shimmer, making this a bit more of a party pick than some of the other quads, like Rosewood and Nudes. It's very pretty.

Rouge Prodige in 131, €20, is a rose-beigey brown, the sort of shade that's not madly exciting in the bullet but flattering on the lips.

Lastly, the face powder is the standout here. Like the powders from last year's Barocco collection and 2009's Palazzo D'oro lineup, this comes in a super-heavy gold metal compact that's very luxe.  It's got an Art Nouveau/stylised swirl on casing and embossed into powder, which is designed to give a finish to makeup as opposed to highlighting.

So - like anything? If you do, the lot is on counter now.
