My attention was first drawn to the practice of trimming eyelashes when someone emailed me to find out if it makes them grow longer and curl upwards.
My answer is NO. No it won't.
Apparently a lot of people do it. Well probably not a LOT, but enough to make this a persistent myth. In the same way that trimming your hair won't encourage it to grow (it will make it appear healthier and fuller though), trimming your eyelashes can't possibly make them grow longer. All hair is basically programmed by the hair follicle to grow to a certain length and have a certain life span. What you do after this is not going to make a blind bit of difference.

My advice: buy a good mascara. That will do wonders for the appearance of your eyelashes.
Oh and on the same note: I've also read about people plucking their eyelashes. Plucking. Their. Eyelashes.
Have any of you heard anything about this eyelash trimming or plucking? Do you know anyone who does it?
