Genius or gimmick? It’s a question posed by many of the quick fix beauty products we come across in our lives.
On the one hand, there’s no denying that something which can save time, or make space in our make-up bag is good, but then there is also the issue of whether we really need it.
These are all things I’m currently considering as I ponder over whether to hit Add to Basket on Amazon. You see I’ve recently discovered a brand that offers a time saving, space saving makeup solution that could make my life a little easier and it's made me seriously curious. But do I need any new makeup? I could always use the old “it’s for research purposes” excuse… again...
The brand in question is called Mai Couture* and if you haven’t heard of it before then here’s the official lowdown: “Mai Couture Papers are the mess-free, portable makeup solution for the modern woman. I’m a big fan of blotting papers for reducing oiliness and shine, but have never come across make-up infused papers before. It’s an interesting idea, though, isn’t it?
In the collection, you’ll find little booklets that house highlighters, blushers, bronzers and foundations. To apply the product, simply rub it lightly over the face and blend, if needed, with fingers. You don’t need brushes and they won’t smash and crumble in your bag, making them ideal for travelling. Plus, as each paper is designed for one use (then thrown away), they’re always hygienic too.
So what do we think? Genius or gimmick?
