Treat Yo'Self: 3 out of the box ways to spend your moolah this payday

It's the end of the month which means one glorious thing; payday! We all deserve to treat ourselves, and here are three ways to spend your salary you may not have thought of

It's that time of month again, when I pretend that debt is Zacchaeus' problem and I have the same amount of disposable income as Paris Hilton. For that brief sliver of opportunity, when my salary is in my account and all the direct debits I've set up have not yet been activated, I shall take to my saved items on ASOS and BUY THEM ALL.

I may have to take every second breath in a paper bag for the rest of April, but at least I'll have some nice threads.

In all seriousness, treating oneself should be an essential, not a luxury. But until the world order sorts itself out, make like Miriam and delude yourself for a day or two, and go on, splurge.

Get that dry clean

A very thirty-something Treat Yo'Self suggestion, I know, but now is the time to get that collection of things for dry-cleaning done. I got a years' worth of dry cleaning done this time last month, and it was glorious. Laundrie is a great little app I discovered that picks your clothes up from your door and leaves them back all refreshed, too. If the hassle of dry cleaning is too much, this will be like an online shopping delivery but with your old favourites, good as new.

Get a new 'do

May is a good a time as any to update your 'do, especially because we're approaching the summer months. If you're time-poor or if you want a change but not too big of a change, try maybe Instant Highlights. It's a new technique from L'Oreal professional that cuts the time it usually takes to get highlights done pretty much in half. I got them myself last month and was thrilled with the results.

Go on a traditional date night - with a difference

The (sigh) Beauty from the East is on its way, apparently, but the weather is going to be not so great throughout the month, as it tends to be. But bad weather's the best time to go to the cinema. The newly re-opened Stella Cinema in Rathmines has only one screen, but what a screen it is. The seats are so comfortable, and you can get food delivered to it. There's a bar, too for viewing drinkies. The bar upstairs is also gorgeous.

The Lighthouse in Smithfield is always a good choice, and did you know they've (finally) opened a sister cinema in Galway? The Pálás is the City of the Tribes' newest arthouse fixture. Cool flicks, good food and drink and even better vibe.
