Calvin Klein not impressed with Kendall's #mycalvins ads

Some of you may not be aware, but designer Calvin Klein sold his business 15 years ago. This hasn't stopped him expressing an opinion regarding the direction the brand currently takes its advertising campaigns, which is fair enough considering it still bears his name.

The designer recently attended at talk at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and - when questioned about Jenner's recent Calvin Klein ads by former CFDA president Fern Mallis - he had this to say...

"You know, I'm really not familiar with (Jenner's role in the ads). I'm honestly not. I'm sure she's a lovely young woman. It's not the kind of thing I would have done, even today... Now, models are paid for how many followers they have. They're booked not because they represent the essence of the designer, which is what I tried to do. I don't think that, long-term, is going to work. I don't think that's a great formula for success for the product you're trying to sell."

As for Bieber's involvement in the My Calvins underwear campaign, Klein said: "When [I say] I like Justin Bieber in the Calvin Klein Underwear [campaign], it's because I like him - not because he's got millions of followers. I think [Bieber's posters] are very good."

Would Kendall Jenner put you off buying Calvin Klein underwear? Or is it not something you'd buy anyway.
