EastEnders to kill off two Mitchells on New Year's Eve

Those Mitchells are just dropping like flies these days on EastEnders. There were about seventeen of them there for a while. Now, between Peggy Mitchell popping her clogs, and Phil pretty much looking like he's on death's door, it's not looking too good for the Albert Square dynasty.

Now there's an even bigger shock in store for EastEnders fans as it's been announced that sisters Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell are to be killed off. The news follows the announcement from actresses Rita Simons and Samantha Womac that they would be leaving the soap, but their exit storyline had yet to be revealed.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: "Everyone's in shock. The cast are very upset. It's come out of the blue."

A spokesperson for the show said they would not comment in order to avoid potential spoilers: "We knew how much our audience hate to have any future storylines spoiled so we will not comment on speculative stories."

Nothing more is known on their upcoming deaths except that they will take place on New Year's Eve.

Good old EastEnders, always knows how to keep things merry and festive, wha'.
