Best Dressed of the Year: The Green Goddess of February

Yesterday, we began the countdown of the best-dressed ladies of the entire year. There are 12 in total, one for every month because we're that cutthroat.

January's winner was Brie Larson, one of the few people to have had a very good 2016. February's style queen is Brie's awards threat, our very own Saoirse Ronan at the 2016 Oscars (and at the Vanity Fair exclusive party - see more of the gorgeous gúnas that graced that red carpet here).

Also dressed in Calvin Klein (should we award him with an accolate, too?) Saoirse's dress echoes Brie's, but this dress is all Saoirse.

She's Irish and was nominated for an Irish film (Brooklyn) and the dress is green, but it in no way looks obvious or hokey. The shade suits her; it complements her lovely pale skin. The classic cut is made modern with the sheer bottom three-quarters, and she's right; there is no need for OTT makeup or any accessories bar those amazing drop earring.

Her hair is tousled perfection - an upstyle just wouldn't have done. All through awards season this year, Saoirse proved herself (again) as a worthy nominee, but she also showed the world her serious style chops. This dress was the full stop to an incredible style trail.
