Kate Middleton's latest style win is a dress you could buy off the rack today

Kate Middleton wore a Self-Portrait dress that you could buy right now if you were so inclined.

I tried this dress on in Brown Thomas in Galway about six months ago. I thought it might be a good alternative to a traditional bridal gown. It would be - if you wanted to cover up every inch (except for a sliver of leg).

Despite the slit, this floor length gown is remarkably modest. Perfect for a member of the Royal Family prone to having the world's beady eyes on her. Although it is modest, it's actually quite cool. There's a distinct 70s vibe to it, in fact, it's almost old-fashioned. The Self Portrait models are a bit cooler than Kate; you can see how the dress could wow with the right attitude.

Kate attended the premiere of 'A Streetcat Named Bob' last night and styled her version with a poppy brooch and a matching shoe/clutch combo. Those courts. They are so very Kate.

The dress was in BTs, but it seems to have vacated the building (and the online store). Never fear, if you want your very own Kate dress, you can buy it from Self-Portrait's website for £320.
