Dear god. Whilst typing this post I accidently switched on something called "sticky keys". While I'm sure said "sticky keys" have their purpose in the great scheme of things, they have resulted in me tearing my hair out in an attempt to restore my computer to normality.
A word of warning to all of you. Pressing the shift key five times in sucession will turn on "sticky keys". Don't say I didn't warn you!
