Harvey Nicks responds to Beaut.ie comments

Last week Kirstie blogged about the new Harvey Nicks Beauty Shop. Purveyors of fabulousness, many and yummy are the treats to be found in this online shop. But a HUGE downside was quickly spotted by Beaut.ie readers - the shipping cost to Ireland was £15 (over €22) and you didn't like the sound of that. At all.

.
Stall the ball there, was the general consensus. You had a few things to say about the postage charges. Flippin outrageous (said xgirl), rip off city (Roxette opined), while others expressed similar views - just too steep and too expensive.

Harvey Nichols responded yesterday by leaving this comment on the original post.
"At Harvey Nichols we’ve taken all your comments on board regarding the new Beauty Shop site and as a result we’ve decided to look again at the postage costs to Eire. Although we are restricted to an extent by our carrier’s charges and the fact that we have to send our products from England, from today we have reduced the Eire postage cost from £15 to £11. I hope this makes shopping on our site more appealing. This is a new venture for Harvey Nichols, so if you have any other feedback about the site, we’re all ears! And look out for new ranges appearing on the site throughout the Summer."

I'd like to say one thing here. I seriously applaud a company who responds so quickly and positively to customer opinion. This is damn good customer service. They'd like to get some more feedback from the Beaut.ie junkies - so go ahead! And let them know what you think of this new shipping charge (€16) - does it still put you off ordering, or do you think it's fine?
