Keep Your Lid On: How to Choose a Hat to Suit YOU This Season

I have never gone to a wedding without wearing a hat.

I don't why but I just feel regal when I wear one. So, I've a new mantra - I am going to wear hats all winter. And that might just be simply because Victoria, Millie and Fearne said I could.

Yep, the fedora is your must-have accessory this winter. It's chic, it's cool, and in the words of Jerry Maguire, you, fedora complete me. Imagine this; black skinny jeans, an awesome pair of leather ankle boots to match, a long chunky knit jumper and one statement, full length coat, all topped off by that key hat. I just cannot get enough of this look.

New York street style title, here I come. I know some have reservations as to how to wear hats. For example my Mother steers clear even though I reckon they really suit her. See, the key is the shape and size, not the colour.

Fedoras tend to have a larger rim which suits long hair, and since I chopped my hair last week (5 1/2 inches off) a medium rim seems to suit me more and frame my face nicely, hence why I quite like the styles currently at Next and H&M (see above).

Price wise, the hats vary depending on quality of material. One of my favourite go-to online retailers, Avenue32.com, is worth a look if you are willing to treat yourself to styles by Rag & Bone and A.P.C. When shopping for your new hat, make sure you try it on with your hairstyle (they way you usually wear it), to ensure you have a comfortable fit - even having your hair in a low ponytail can alter the size ever so slightly.

So what do you think, is the fedora phenomenon for you?
