Could Urban Decay's Naked Skin Concealer Be Our New Fave?

Urban Decay have finally released a Naked Skin concealer. Hip Hip Hurray! The Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer (phew!) has just hit shelves along with Naked Skin Powder Foundation - they're supposed to complement each other - and it's being marketed as a heavy duty cover-up that will disguise my horrifying flaws.

It's supposed to be a concealer version of the Naked Skin Liquid Makeup (see our review of that against YSL La Teint Touche Eclat Foundation here), the packaging even matches. Like the foundation, it's supposed to be buildable with a demi-matte finish and I can confirm that it is!

The texture is light and airy and the colour I applied (Light Neutral) was natural looking. It's easy to blend and I was impressed with how it covered blemishes but it settled in the fine lines on the dehydrated skin under my eyes which the blurb said it would NEVER do! I need to drink more water.

The 'modern flocked' applicator is a new one to me. It aims to distribute just the right amount of concealer but I usually roll concealer onto my hand and use my finger to apply because different areas that need to be concealed require different amounts of product. I'm thinking now that I really need separate versions of maybe the same concealers (possibly this one) for under eyes, normal blemishes and those bulbous boils that often rear their ugly heads.

I like the fact that as well as camouflaging blemishes, the Naked Skin concealer is full of helpful ingredients including anti-wrinkle peptides, Japenese green tea to help revitalise and help reduce the appearence of fine lines and sodium hyaluronate to help skin attract and retain moisture. So maybe I don't need to drink more water...

Apart from the texture, which is much lighter, weightless if you will, I thought this concealer was quite similar to my Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer. I really do like the texture, I like the finish, I agree that it's buildable and I'm looking forward to trying it with the Naked Skin Powder Foundation. Watch this space.

The concealer comes in eight shades, from Fair to Dark and they come in warm or neutral tones. It's €21 and is available in Debenhams stores and from their web store and also in House of Fraser.

Are you a fan of the Naked range from Urban Decay? Are you excited to try this out?
