Ahead of festival season we're checking out marble lips, the beauty trend that's been taking over Instagram.
Instagram might be full of beautiful food and fashion, but it's the beauty trends we really love. From razor sharp eyeliner to glittering eye shadows to flawless skin. It's impossible not to get lost in it all regardless of whether it's wearable or pure fantasy. Lip art is always really popular on Instagram and one of the latest trends going viral is for marble lips. As the name suggests, it's all about creating stone, cold, marble inspired designs. Close up, the effects are beautiful. Intricate and delicate lines meet with shades ranging from pale greys to bright turquoise.

There are a few different versions of marble lips doing the rounds from matte to glossy. We love the ultra glossy versions, which although almost entirely unwearable in real life do look very pretty on camera. A quick google will bring up any number of tutorials if you'd like to give them a go yourself (we like this one).
If marble lips aren't your thing though, perhaps galaxy lips might be? The galaxy lip art trend is gaining popular right now too and we can see why. The looks are multi-tonal using black, purple, blue, pink, silver and golds to create a feeling of deep space.

Up close you can see all the different tones, where as from further away it looks like a classic dark lip making it a bit more wearable, especially come festival season. Above you can see my version of Galaxy lips which I created by patting cream eye shadows over the lips and finish with a clear gloss. You could use different shades of metallic lip gloss to create a similar effect though.
Are you feeling inspired by the latest instagram trends, or are you happy to just be an observer?
