The study, which was conducted in June 2017, shows that Irish women are very conscious of taking care of their skin. 83% say they have a daily skincare regime, while almost half (47%) report that they began looking after their skin when they were teenagers. 65% of those surveyed take their make-up off every night. Just 5% said they never take their makeup off before going to bed. 70% of those surveyed use more than three skincare products for their skincare regime, with moisturiser being regarded as the product most people can’t do without (61%), followed by cleanser (19%).

The survey also shows that Irish people subscribe to the old adage that ‘you are what you eat’ with 73% reporting that they feel their diet affects the condition of their hair and skin and 39% admitting they make a conscious effort to eat better when they feel their skin isn’t at its best. 62% of those surveyed said they had taken supplements to help improve the condition of their skin, hair and nails. The science behind the product was chosen by a quarter of respondents as the biggest influence on their choice of supplement.
