Golden Globes Style Special: All White on the Night

There was a lot to love on last night's Golden Globes red carpet - especially if you love silver (or, as displayed by Dakota Johnson's Chanel dress, Fifty Shades of Grey), and plunging necklines, and ornate bathroom  accessory in a country retreat courtesy of Keira Knightly (also in Chanel).

First, to the silver ladies, all of which were SUBLIME. In addition to Dakota Johnson, Reese Witherspoon (not sure why she was there, apart from her being Reese Witherspoon) also looked understated and sophisticated in Calvin Klein - despite the LA Times referring to her as 'unremarkable'. How very dare they.

Also pulling out the stops in their molten liquid ensembles include Globe winner Julianne Moore(Givenchy Couture), and Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad.

Emma Stone (Lanvin) and Lorde (Narciso Rodriguez) both cut dashing figures on the carpet thanks to being inspired by Emma Watson's Dior look from last year. That or Stone just wanted to come gift wrapped for the occasion, and why not? And, yes, Lorde's trousers are a bit long, but we'll overlook that on account of her still being a teenager. There is NO way we looked this 'fashion' when we were 18.

Those also nailing their red carpet looks include Jennifer Aniston (Saint Laurent)Amal Clooney (Christian Dior Haute Couture, topped with added George and 'Je Suis Charlie' button), Jessica Chastain (Versace)Lupita Nyong'o (Giambattista Valli), and Allison Williams (Armani Privé).

Now, to the not so lovely... Amy Adams, while looking grand, looked wholly 'mmmbleh' when compared to last year's daring ensemble.

Rosamund Pike, while kudos should be proffered for her being out of the house and smiling on a red carpet merely a month after giving birth, this barely there Vera Wang gown possibly wasn't the best choice.

Also managing to look good (if a little washed out) in a white Michael Kors dress was the sultry Emily Blunt.

Lena Dunham looked striking in red Zac Posen (she does indeed always wear Zac Posen), just a shame it didn't quite hang quite right around the middle.

So tell us, whose style are you loving and you doesn't make your honours list?
