Beware of Selfies! These New Warning Signs are No Joke

Really, it makes sense when you think about it. Especially as - in Russia - there have been 10 selfie-related deaths this year alone. That's not taking into consideration the "over 100 injuries".

According to People Magazine: "The Russian Interior Ministry knows it can't prevent citizens from taking selfies. However, a new campaign urges them to do so with greater care than they've apparently been exercising. Pamphlets being distributed to Russian schools, the official slogan of the campaign translates to 'Even a million likes on social media are not worth your life or well-being'."

A warning sign featuring someone falling down a flight of stairs is believable enough. I mean, who hasn't nearly backed on to a flight of stairs while trying to take a selfie? What's more jarring, however, are the necessity of signs suggesting that perhaps taking a selfie in front of oncoming traffic in the middle of a street, or indeed on a train track, with a selfie stick, aren't the best of ideas.
