Senior Web Developer

Reporting to our CEO this person will work as the senior team member responsible for the development and design of Ireland's leading entertainment and beauty websites.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing successful websites or web applications, excellent problem solving skills, and an enthusiastic and adaptable approach to work.

Responsibilities

  • Use a variety of tools and development technologies to develop and enhance the entertainment.ie and beaut.ie websites.
  • Build scalable, high performance websites, creating custom features and functionality as required.
  • Co-ordinate the development and design schedules and tasks, with other members of the team.
  • Create solutions to consume external data feeds, and provide JSON and XML syndicated feeds to external clients.
  • Work with management, editorial and external clients to plan and implement new concepts and features for the websites and applications.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Computer related Degree
  • 4 years demonstrated skill at developing engaging client-facing web applications.
  • 3 years experience developing ASP classic applications or websites.
  • 3 years experience working with Client side JavaScript and jQuery or other JavasScript frameworks or Libraries.
  • 2 years MS SQL Server experience, including writing stored procedures.
  • Experience with ASP.NET Visual Basic and C#.
  • Experience with AJAX, XML and JSON.
  • Configuration and knowledge of IIS.
  • SEO knowledge.
  • Experience working with Version Control Software (SVC, GIT, perforce).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, sales teams and content management teams.
  • Strong knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills..
  • Google analytics reporting and configuration skills.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Desirable Skills

  • Social Sharing integration on websites and mobile applications.
  • Basic Image manipulation skills
  • Experience with responsive design, SCSS/LESS and responsive CSS frameworsk such as foundation.
  • Experience managing banner ad-serving platforms, such as ADTECH or Doubleclick for Publishers.
  • Video formats and encoding technologies
  • Automated unit testing, and end to end application testing (Jasmine, NighwatchJS, Jenkins, etc).
  • Experience with task runner tools such as Grunt, Gulp or other preprocessor programs.

Salary will be commensurate with experience
