Cheap flights = cheaper makeup

I'm a sucker for a Ryanair cheap flight.

They've got the measure of me those Ryanair honchos.

I can imagine the smart arsed marketing meetings.

"Give the likes of her the easy lure of a flight that looks like it costs €1.99".

"She'll obsessively work her way through the maze of the booking form and click the Next Day and Previous buttons a hundred times looking for the bargain basement price. Throw in the annoying travel insurance prompts and the ridiculous credit card fees. By the time she gets to the end she will no longer care that the final fare is a hundred times more expensive then we said at the start. Ha! Ha!"

But sure lookit. The weather was positively apocalyptic in my absence and it was warm and sunny in the Canary Isles. Instead of battling through the rain I was lying by the pool. Instead of turning the windscreen wipers up to the max to make my way into work, brolly instantly turning inside out upon reaching my destination I was... well, lying by the pool.

So what's all this got to do with Beaut.ie?

In between cocktails I took the opportunity to check out some of the prices in the shops and compare them to ours. Well as usual, it was Irelande nil points on the value for money list.

All the makeup was much cheaper. But for example purposes I'm just going to mention one of the new products we were discussing recently. Do you remember the new YSL French Manicure pen Lynnie was talking about a little while back? Too pricey at €44 we agreed. It was €32.

And has anyone else experienced the triumphant trumpet fanfare that now blasts out upon the timely landing of a Ryanair flight?

I'll say no more. But don't say you haven't been warned...
