The day of spookiness is here! Little figures dressed in black sacks will hurry from house to house as soon as darkness begins to fall. Monkey nuts and apples will be received by the little spooks in aul plastic bags while lanterns carved from pumpkins turnips flicker in every window.
Oh wait - that was actually a flashback to the eighties.
We used to have the crappiest "costumes" ever! We used to dress up in any old rags and plonk on a mask. There would only be a selection of about three types of masks in the whole town (ghost, witch and some other random face - cat maybe) so opportunities for individuality were severely limited.
