Kate Middleton brings her fit-for-a-princess wardrobe to Canada

Kate Middleton's fashion choices are scrutinized from literal head to toe every time she steps out the door. Whether she wears Gap trousers or her beloved Issa London or Erdem brands, she has the eyes of the world practically picking the outfits apart stitch by stitch.

One of her favourite designers is Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen. She wore McQueen at both her wedding and the christening of daughter Charlotte. She takes her sartorial choices to the edge in these pieces. They have enough couture mettle to please the fash pack and yet are demure enough to not frighten the life out of her granny-in-law.

And the McQueen number she wore on her current Canadian trip is possibly our favourite to date (wedding dress excepted, obvs).

The sharp lines, nod to Victoriana and dramatic silhouettes all work for K-Middy.

The red and white colours are surely in honour of the host country, while the buttoned-up neckline balances the shorter hemline. And the broderie anglaise material is a favourite of Kate's.

She modified this dress from the Alexander McQueen Resort 2017 collection (see below, pic courtesy of Vogue and Alexander McQueen).

The design house gave her version more fitted sleeves, a white waistband and some cuff detailing.

She paired the outfit with a Miu Miu clutch.

Finally, a simple pair of heels to finish the look and to send the fashion magazines into meltdown. I'm guessing these are Hobbs; Julietta Courts; they are certainly very close.

Are you as much of a fan of this outfit as we are?
