Carrying your bag arseways is all the rage, apparently: What the actual eff?!

So, I've noticed a disturbing micro trend in accessories lately, and to put it bluntly it involves women carrying their handbags completely arseways. Rather than use the straps on their big eff-off shoulder bags as God and Hermès intended, they're clasping them in their hands like rugby balls as though they'd mistaken these giant málaí for delicate little box clutches.

Victoria Beckham has been at this malarkey for a while now, and even sent models at her SS13 and AW13 shows down the runway in her image.

But don't think for a second that the trend is confined to the world of VB: it's popping up in editorials and campaigns (look out for Kate Moss' Givenchy ads), the street style set are catching on, and lately I've seen Real Women in Actual Real Life carrying their bags thusly too.

I have just one question for all these ladies, and it is this: WHAT THE ACTUAL EFF?! I mean, surely it can't be the most comfortable way to carry these bags, and in addition to making them look like an easy target for would-be thieves it seems really, really awkward and, well, try-hard.

What do you reckon? Will you be holding your bag like this from now on?
