The thorny question of fakes on eBay: L'Oreal V eBay - the case continues

The gloves are off.

L'Oreal is currently suing eBay in five European countries. The cosmetic giant claims that eBay is not doing enough to stop counterfeit Lancome goods being sold on the site. (L'Oreal owns Lancome)

Belgian courts have found in favour of eBay - the court found them not responsible for individual sellers passing off fake goods as the real deal. L'Oreal disagrees and is appealing the decision. And let's not forget the other four countries have yet to come back with their verdicts too.
