This bride breaking the 'you only wear your wedding dress once' rule is our hero

The night of her wedding is both the greatest and the saddest part of the day for a bride. Sad because it's all over and she has to take off the expensive dress she will only wear once. Great because... well, you know.

But what if - crazy idea - the bride did wear her dress again. What it she wears again every year? That's what Samantha Burns does, and she looks good doing it.

In an essay for Brides magazine, Samantha detailed why she revisits her dress, and it's not just because it's absolutely stunning and it fits her like a glove.

She wrote, "I had looked forward to the day for so long and couldn't believe in a matter of hours it was over. It was in that moment that I turned to my husband and told him that I intended to wear my wedding dress for every anniversary as long as I could fit in it! I envisioned myself doing the activities we enjoy as a couple, frolicking around restaurants, parks, and ice cream shops in my white gown. As we embarked on our happily ever after, I felt giddy about the idea of celebrating each milestone with such a fun and sentimental tradition."

Samantha says her new tradition has other benefits. You get your money's worth for a dress that you could have spent thousands on for one. She reckons it can rekindle romance. And then there's the fact that she's wearing a wedding dress on a pretty much random day. To Samantha, this is "feeling like a celebrity."

Some brides hide their dresses in the attic for years and years. Others 'trash' it. Samantha wears hers. Do you think it's a tradition that could catch on?
