Makeup trauma - what would you replace?

thief

I experienced the trauma of having my handbag stolen a few years back, and with it my fabulous silver Stila makeup bag (I still sigh when I think of the makeup bag, and yet I'm over the handbag itself). Now I should clarify that what was lost wasn't my entire makeup collection - just the daily essentials I was wearing at the time - and luckily for me there was nothing in it that couldn't be replaced, apart from the bag itself.

Thinking about this recently, however, I wondered what I'd do if I somehow did manage to lose all my makeup at once (if there are burglars out there who would go for Ecco shoes over a shiny new laptop, as my poor Dad once experienced, then surely there are those just dying for a stack of Muji drawers filled with lipsticks and eyeshadows). Trying to decide what I would replace first was a good way of figuring out what it is that I love from my collection, and what I wouldn't be too bothered about getting again.

First stop on my mission would be Giorgio Armani, where I'd get my must-have High Precision Retouch Concealer and Luminous Silk Pressed Powder. If I was feeling flush I'd stretch to the Luminous Silk Foundation, but as I don't wear foundation every day I'd be okay with waiting for this. I'd also replace my Sheer Powder Blush in shade 2 - it's the perfect peachy pink for everyday wear and can be built up nicely from sheer colour to a more pigmented finish. I'd also pick up one of the Maestro eye shadow palettes - 04 has a nice range of neutral brown colours with matte and satin finishes, which I get lots of wear out of. And lastly I'd get the Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in shade 12 - a gorgeous smoky brown that I use for both day and night.

Next stop would be the MAC counter for lipstick - I'd replace my Lustre finish lipstick in Plumful for when I want a nice bright colourful lip (I'd also slip in a tube of clear Brow Gel while I was at it) and then I'd stop at Laura Mercier for a Sheer Lip Colour lipstick in Bare Lips - my perfect natural everyday shade. Onwards to Bobbi Brown, where I'd pick up a Pale Pink blush and a Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Espresso.

I'd also remember to pick up a tube of Too Faced Shadow Insurance eye shadow primer, which is a must-have for me, and for mascara I would probably be happy with Rimmel Extra Super Lash mascara - I'm pretty fickle with mascara anyway so I wouldn't feel compelled to replace any particular one I have at the moment.

So tell me, what would you definitely repurchase if your entire makeup collection was to disappear (after a suitable period of mourning, of course)?
