We took a gander at this last week in an AW10 preview of Clarins' Rouge Prodige collection (or Rouge Porridge as some of you dubbed it), and it's the Instant Blush Magic Colour in Rose Frais, and it costs €22.
The verdict? You will either love this cutsey product or you will absolutely detest it. You'll either like the fact it's got magic colour-changing properties or you won't; you'll go for the shade it turns on your cheeks or you'll loathe it; and you'll either like the fact it's gel-based and stays dewy-looking, or you'll want to scrub it back off instantly. And if you're sebum prone forget about it - this adds shine where you most likely want to take it away.
Yup, I really think it's that polarising. Texture-wise, it's odd. It's not a gel at all really, because it is slightly tacky to the touch and it does stay that way post-application. So, not one to wear to the beach on a windy day. Bright pink in the pot with lots of fine shimmer, on the skin it's firstly clear, and then it transforms - much like Smashbox's O Glow lip and cheek products - into a deeper pink.
So yes, a little gimmicky. But it does work - I put far too much on and resembled Aunt Sally, so a light hand is required for sure. I also liked the fact the tacky formula stays a little glowy looking, so it's a good one for anyone who likes a dewy finish. Instant Blush Magic Colour can also be used on the lips, which I think is the way a lot of people will prefer to apply it actually.
