Myth Busting: Spas and Salons are SCARY

Lots of people are put off going to get treatments done (especially body treatments) because they're embarrassed by their (real or imagined) fat bum, wobbly thighs and stretchmarks, and they think the therapist will sneer.

They won't. Therapists are like doctors - they've seen it all and nothing shocks them! This is their job, they're professionals and they're not going to judge you or make you feel bad. And if you feel shy or embarrassed before you go, I promise you won't once you're there. Everything is discreet and maximised to make you as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

You won't have to get undressed in front of anyone, and if you're having a massage you'll be covered with towels for the most part - all that will be exposed is the area the therapist is working on at the time - so your legs, or back.

Having a spa or salon experience is a great way to pamper and relax yourself. So if you've been a bit wary - don't be! Allow yourself to have a treat, and you'll soon banish any salon-worries you might have.
