3 leg shaving mistakes you're probably making and how to fix them

There is a right way and a wrong way to shave, but a surprising number of people still make these shaving mistakes

I have never been a big fan of most forms of hair removal nor have I intentionally been able to inflict pain on myself like waxing. Laser I find painful in parts, but the more I go, the easier it gets (and I know there is a greater good because soon I won't have to go back for a year and will be hair free). Up until I found laser I was a shaver.  And wth that comes quick regrowth, red bumps, itchiness and discomfort.

Here are some surprising shaving mistakes you might be making, and some simple solutions.

  • Using soap not a cream

Believe it or not, conditioning your skin before you shave will soften the hair and follicle and therefore minimise bumps and redness as there is less irritation. You are more likely to get a longer lasting and closer shave with foam, conditioner or cream.

  • Shaving as soon as you get in the shower

When the skin is warm and soft so is your hair and follicle. By leaving shaving to the end of the shower, you will get a smoother and longer lasting shave.

  • Thinking more pressure makes a closer shave

When it comes to the amount of pressure you need to apply when it comes to shaving less is more. The harder you press down on your skin, the more uneven the skin surface becomes and the less likely you are to getting a perfectly smooth shave.
