One of the hardest skintypes to get good skincare for is oily, acne-prone complexions. I'm not talking the teenage-tastic Clean and Clear and Clearasil-style stuff, I'm talking kind, well-formulated ranges for ladies that you can buy for decent prices in the chemist, which work, and which mean you don't have to shell out an arm and a leg on expensive salon solutions.
Uriage is a brand that's been semi-available in Ireland for a couple of years but which has recently gotten much wider distribution. To place it on a footing Irish women will immediately understand, this is a French thermal water range, which has got a strong dermatological pedigree so sits very well alongside ranges like La Roche-Posay and Avene. If you like them, you'll like Uriage.
There are absolutely tons of products for all concerns and skintypes and I am sure we're going to be looking at some more from Uriage soon, but Hyseac is interesting because it's addressing a problem so few brands tackle. Three moisturisers are designed for all stages of blemished and acned skin. Restructuring Soothing Care, €16.88, is for dry and irritated oily skins and decreases dryness, so can be used when undergoing a course of acne medication like Roaccutane. Active Care with AHA, €18.37, is for blemish-prone skin with a thick, uneven texture and helps to decrease blackheads and imperfections, so would be a good pick if you've got very uneven, pesky, zitty skin. Hyseac AI Anti-Blemishes Care, €14.50, is designed to help treat inflamatory acne, painful spots and scarring.
Now - it's important to note that as a dry-skinned person I haven't used any of these products personally, but the comprehensive nature of the range, the decent price-points and the fact it's a huge concern for many of you, made it well worth a blog post.
