There's more to bagels than salmon and cream cheese, you know. Yes, you can add some avocado slices and definitely do sprinkle some capers; but that's beside the point. What we're trying to say is, bagels are the breads you didn't know you loved.

Ireland has come a long way food-wise in the past twenty years; remember when paninis arrived and we almost lost the run of ourselves? Now, hummus lives alongside Irish butter in our fridges and we make things like moussaka for fun.

Behold, the snack that you can make with delicious ingredients you can find in most stores. It's so easy to create, but so impressive and satisfying as a snack. Nom.

Cinnamon and Raisin Bagel with Balsamic Strawberries and Ricotta

Ingredients

  • 1 Cinnamon & Raisin New York Bakery Co Bagel, toasted
  • 4 large strawberries
  • 2 tbsp. ricotta
  • 1 tsp. balsamic glaze

Method

  • Cut the strawberries in half length-ways.
  • Heat a griddle pan until scorching hot, add the strawberries and griddle until strong lines appear.
  • Spread the toasted bagel with the ricotta cheese and top with the strawberries.
  • Drizzle with the balsamic glaze to serve.
