This is the time of year when we all start to think about adjusting our beauty routines for the onset of summer. What works for us in winter, with its harsh weather and drying central heating does need adjusting as the seasons change, and lighter products with UVA and UVB protection become the order of the day. Ideally, in an Irish climate, our moisturiser from April - October should have a factor of 30, while 15 should do throughout the rest of the year.

We've already discussed some sun protectant products from ranges like Vichy and Dermalogica, and I've been using Decleor's Aroma Sun moisturiser for the past month or so. It has an SPF of 30 and protects against sunburn and damaging rays. You can also get a version with an SPF 15.

This is pretty typical of a lot of moisturisers with a high SPF in that it's quite irritating if you use it near the eyes - it makes mine water and itch. Plus, it gives that annoying white 'ghost' appearance to your face, so it's definitely one to use under make up. It's also residue-tastic - you'll be peeling it back off your face in dirty chunks all day, which I just find repulsive and should not happen with any moisturising product.

And finally, it stinks. It could well appeal to others but the smell, a result of Decleor's committment to using essential oils and plant extracts, is horrible and cloying to my nose.

If after that mostly thumbs down review you still fancy trying it, then you'll get it in salons for about €30 for 50ml, or on Strawberrynet for €27.
