3 high SPF foundations to suit any skin types (even in winter)

Yesterday we looked into facial massage as a great way to ensure your skin is looking bright and fresh. Today we’re looking at how to protect it, while also making it look good too. Yep, it’s all about SPF foundations.

While there are a host of formulas out there offering SPF 10, 15 or 20, I wanted to highlight a few that are higher again. If we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that you can’t be too safe.

Below are three that will not only make your skin look good, but will also protect it, whether you’re out and about in the sun or hiding from the rain. Winter is coming after all.

  • Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum €50

Lightweight in both texture and feel, this luxurious foundation is ideal for anyone who has dryer skin that needs a little TLC.

Along with the SPF 40 (available in 15 shades) and SPF 35 (available in a further five shades), the foundation is infused with skincare ingredients including lychee & bamboo grass extract. These help brighten and tone the complexion for a more youthful appearance.

  • Vichy Dermablend Corrective Makeup €21.99

Fans of fuller coverage will no doubt have already given this foundation a go at some point. We’ve often talked about how good it is for concealing blemishes, acne and scarring. Let’s not forget that it also has a high SPF 35, too.

The shade range isn’t the biggest, which is a shame, offering only six shades. But, you could always use a foundation adjuster to customise your shade for a perfect finish.

  • Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation €38 / €25 (refills)

We only reviewed this a couple of weeks ago and are still going on about it. Why? Because it has a whopping SPF 50, which is pretty impressive for such a lightweight, fresh feeling formula. You can check out the full review here (with swatches and pics).

The long and short of it is it works well on normal to combination skin, gives a natural glow to skin and lasts well for the day too.
