Look of the Week: Kristen Stewart

Look of the Week: Kristen Stewart
By Miriam Burke  | Aug 21, 2015

While we really wish we were showcasing Jennifer Aniston's wedding dress - which we are sure would be our Look of the Week if only she'd give us a peek - we think that this week's choice is a doozy.

Kristen Stewart was promoting her new film, American Ultra, in LA during the week (where she bumped into Jacob Taylor Lautner and looked like she was having a grand aul time) and she simply dazzled. Who knew she had legs that went on for miles and miles? She was trial-blazing up a storm in her sequinned playsuit from Zuhair Murad's Resort 2016 collection and even though it's short as can be, we want it (or a version of it. A very cheap version of it) in our wardrobes for Christmas.

As long as you can get out of it easily in moments when too much liquid sustenance has been consumed, a playsuit is the most practical piece you'll own. It's even better when it's black and floral and shiny.

Note Kristen's styling; her hair is simply pulled back, her shoes are everyone-owns-a-pair black pumps (although, sadly, they might not be Jimmy Choos, like Kristen's) and the sequins do all the accessorising.

Kristen's eye look is verging on the dodgy end of the cat eye spectrum but on seeing it, we are willing the dramatic look back into our lives. So long summery, natural beauty, hello sultry, autumnal glam.

We saw two other looks that we adored during the week so today we have a second and third spot.

Remember Cheryl's amazing jumpsuit at the launch of her perfume? We spotted the Leeloo side strap (that's what we call it, we're not sure if it's an haute couture term) then, rated its stylish and handy qualities, and lo and behold, there it is again on Mena Suvari, in Vatanika Resort 2016, at the She's Funny That Way premiere. That rich burgundy colour will be all over the place come autumn.

Holland Roden was also in on the burgundy act, wearing a Self-Portrait frock in a similar hue. Self-Portrait is a soooper popular brand right now, we've seen blue and white crochet pieces at a load of weddings and occasions this year. They are high end but affordable - you can nab yourself a dress in BTs for under €400, which for a brand that's often seen on the red carpet, is quite good, we think.

Jennifer Aniston was also at the premiere but in a boring black number so she can frig off this list. Show us the wedding dress already! Do you agree with our top picks or would you have chosen another look from this premiere or any other event during the week?
