The new BareMinerals foundation loves oily skin (and vice versa)

Oily skin has a problem with foundation. Or maybe it's the other way around? Regardless, BareMinerals has found a way to make them work together

Finding a full coverage fluid foundation which is semi-matte and lasts all day long on an oily skin type and doesn't clog your pores can be quite a challenge. But in 2017 when there's a new beauty innovation every single day, a foundation like this shouldn't be too hard to find, right?

Well, that's certainly what BareMinerals has tried to do with its latest foundation invention, the BarePro Performance Wear. The texture is creamy but it really feels like you aren't wearing makeup at all. The coverage is medium to full as it's buildable. It has an SPF 20 to protect your skin (but as I often say, it's still important to wear an SPF underneath for extra protection). They say it's 24-hour wear, and it is oil-free, non-comedogenic, water resistant, sweat resistant and transfer resistant.

I tried this foundation after a peel so my skin was still a little flakey. Initially, I could see the flakiness so I wasn't holding much hope, mainly as no foundation looks ok with flakey skin. But to my pleasant surprise, the formula started to work with my skin oils and balanced out my skin. Within a few hours, my skin looked even, and it genuinely hid the flakes.

The mineral pigments that BareMinerals are known for totally do their job with this foundation. Their job is to blur imperfections, and they do it well. The Papaya Enzymes in the formula exfoliate your skin and improve the skin's texture over time. So even though you're wearing makeup, you're caring for your skin, too. Win-win!

Also, as promised, the foundation lasted all day long. But the best part is because it's mineral based, it covers your skin, but it can still breathe. I would recommend this foundation to someone who is conscious about concealing blemishes and redness and scarring etc., someone who wants to wear foundation but doesn't want to look like they're plastered in the stuff.

The BarePro Performance Wear Foundation has an impressive shade range, 30 in total, so hopefully, you'll find one close to your skin tone that will blend right in.

I think it's great. And it's available now from your nearest Debenhams.
