Jade Rollers - what are they actually for?

Jade rollers have been taking over the internet recently. They're the latest skincare craze, but what are they for? And more importantly, do they work?

Jade rollers are one of the latest skincare crazes to hit the internet. You can't scroll or click on social media without seeing one. But aside from being pretty, what do they actually do? Are they worth the money? How do you use them? Are they going to become yet another thing gathering dust on the bathroom shelf?

Sometimes it can be a little tricky to decipher what's actually good these days. But fear not, we're here to tell you the truth!

What is a jade roller?

The first thing to mention is that, surprisingly, jade rollers aren't a new thing. They've been popular in skincare routines for centuries in countries such as China and Korea. Essentially, a jade roller is a tool to help with skin massage, lymph drainage and circulation for the face and neck area.

How does it work?

In terms of benefits, jade rollers are known to help with brightening skin, de-puffing, and toxin drainage. In much the same way as a classic facial massage does. The main difference is that the stone is cool when applied to the skin. The cool sensation combined with the light pressure on skin helps to reduce redness and puffiness.

I got this 100% jade roller a few days ago and I’ve been loving it. I like to keep it in the fridge and basically roll it on my face while maintaining an upward motion. Literally do it for like 5 minutes and instantaneously my skin is de-puffed and the natural contours are a lot more prominent. The best part is I paid $4.99 for this at @rossdressforless ! . . . . . . . . . . . #jaderoller#skincare#beautyblogger#contour#skincare#skincarethread#selfcare#selflove#goodskin#healthyskin#glowingskin#antiaging#realjade#beautyblogger#nycblogger#nycliving#fashionblogger#skin#koreanbeauty#bestskinever#skincareroutine#skincaretips#beautytips#kbeauty#bestskin#glowingskincare#beautytools#antiaging#asianbeauty#nycdermatologist#nycspa

How do you use it?

Start by applying your serum or moisturiser. Begin at the base of your neck and roll up towards to chin (repeat). Then bring the roller from the centre of the chin up along your jawline towards ears.

For the face, start at the centre of the chin, rolling out and up toward your ears along the cheeks. Repeat the action, starting at the side of the nose. Roll it under your eye, moving it horizontally towards your temple, and repeat it on your eyelid. On your forehead, roll it up from the brow to the hairline. Then, roll it horizontally out toward your temple. Finally, repeat on the other side of your face.

Are they worth buying?

This is a tricky one to answer because it depends on who you talk to. The benefits are much the same as face massage using your hands (which is free!), but the cooling sensation is very nice, especially on tired, puffy skin. Basically, if you think you'll use it, why not? Could make a lovely Christmas pressie too!
