Now that's how to wear navy eyeshadow

Pat McGrath is one of the most influential makeup artists in the world, so you can trust her to show you how to wear navy eyeshadow.

Whoever said blue eyeshadow isn't cool anymore just needs to see how to do it right. Makeup artist Pat McGrath isn't afraid of using colour on the eyes. We love the adventurous makeup looks she creates. These makeup looks show how amazing blue pigment in eyeshadow can look.

For this first look, she uses a navy eyeshadow with a plum undertone to smoke out the eye. A little gold pigment in the centre of the lid brightens the look and adds a little sparkle.

She uses the same technique in this next look. The gold spotlight in the centre lid breaks up the matte, navy shadow. This one is a little more dramatic but it would be amazing on brown eyes to make them pop.

She mixes a shimmering blue with black kohl pencil to tone down the blue-ness of this eye makeup look and make it more wearable. We think it's seriously impressive.

This look is all out blue! It's strikingly beautiful. The most important elements of this look are blending and a very defined lashline. The eyeshadow is softly blended to perfection and the lashes and liner are intense black to set the perfect contrast.
