Swirly, Dreamy, Swanky: Olay Regenerist CC Cream Review, Pics, Swatches

Olay Regenerist CC Cream

I keep meaning to try out more Olay products. They consistently get good press and reviews from beauty editors, they have the science to back up their claims and the products are affordable, too. And where better to start than with their CC cream, part of the Regenerist range.

Olay Regenerist CC Cream

A 3-in-1 cream, the clear packaging shows a swirl of moisturiser and a swirl of pigment suspended in a clear serum. The three elements all have different functions:

  • The serum is anti-ageing and targets dark spots and wrinkles
  • The moisturiser hydrates and protects- it contains glycerine, SPF 15, and anti-oxidant vitamin E
  • The mineral pigments are adapative to your skintone to even it out and provide natural looking coverage

There are three shades and I have the lightest - it's plenty pale for Celtic complexions and there's not the slightest bang of tango off the product at all. When you pump it out the three elements aren't quite  blended together so give it a swirl on the back of your hand before you start. You get quite a lot of product in one pump so go easy - it's plenty to cover your entire face, and then some.

My first impressions are that the cream has almost a gel like texture which feels nice and refreshing, and blends out really easily. It's a warm day when I use it first, and the product feels lovely and soothing on my skin. It applies and absorbs much more like skincare than makeup and feels incredibly lightweight on the skin.

While I was a little disappointed in the coverage levels at first, after a bit of concealer I soon changed my mind.  I really like the fresh faced, luminous effect this gave my skin - it's a flattering, youthful effect. It also lives up to its 'complexion corrector ' claims, minimising redness and making me look more even toned.

Because it's almost indiscernible on the skin it really is perfect for faking the natural look. I just added a little gloss, cream blusher,  mascara and smudgy liner (on top of my trusty Nars concealer) and was good to go.

If you're after something that's light and refreshing,  is genuinely hydrating and looks natural but flattering, this one is definitely worth a punt. It's €18.66 and out now - have you already tried it, or would you like to?
