As it's the beginning of a new year two trends are clearly emerging.
1. The diet and fitness industry has gone into overdrive
2. Everywhere we look we are encouraged to gaze upon images of slim, toned celebs prancing through waves and sand in tiny bikinis
These two events are of course connected. With many of us feeling like lumps of lard post Christmas, our interest in the beautiful people is stronger than ever. And our desire to get off our asses and lose a few pounds means that we're interested to see who's still looking hot on the beach. It's a kind of self punishment
Rhianna seems to be winning the day in the bikini bod competition, according to all the magazines, while Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and Fergie are all holding their own. The thing that's great about this is that although all these women are slim and toned - they are still curvy. They're not little stick insects and they look fantastic. Kimberly from Girls Aloud is my personal favourite - just look at her. And this despite the fact that she's often referred to as "the fat one" in Girls Aloud - a bigger collection of skinny minnies you couldn't find anywhere.
