It may be over 8 carats and cost in the region of half a million dollars, but that looks straight out of a cracker to me. Listen, I'm in no position to judge; an engagement ring is a very personal thing - but it's just a bit much. Then again, so is Lady Gaga. In other words, each to their own!

Gaga confirmed the news of her Valentines engagement to her boyfriend of four years Taylor Kinney last night via her Instagram. She captioned the below "He gave me his heart on Valentine's Day, and I said YES!"

Following the 33-year-old's proposal, the couple headed off her family's restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, in Manhattan.
Gaga and her new fiancé first met in 2011 on the set of her You and I video. They then struck up a romance just months later, before splitting briefly for a month in May 2012. Then they got fierce rosemantic altogether with a full on commitment ceremony back in October.
