For something a little bit daring and different we think you should consider colour for your New Year's Eve makeup.

Do you ever just get bored of wearing the same makeup all the time? We all tend to get pretty reliant on the good old brown smokey eyes. But we think you should consider colour on your eyes for your New Year's Eve makeup look. It's a great way to break out of your makeup habits and look a little bit different for a change.

Green eyeshadow can be really gorgeous. It works well to create a monochromatic colour scheme on green eyes. Green eyeshadow can make green eyes look deep sea green. It also works well on brown eyes, like all coloured eyeshadow to make them pop.

Here you can see how a pop of purple really makes brown eyes stand out. Brown eyes need contrast to make them look really minstrel brown.

A pop of colour worn as eyeliner is so easy to do. You don't need to wear it all over the lid. Just a smudge under the lower lid will give you that pop of colour without being too dramatic.

Creating a smokey eye with colour is really simple to do. It's really effective with very little effort. You will need a coloured kohl pencil, your eyeshadow colour and a blending brush. You don't have to get too technical with it. Just smudge the liner across your top lid and buff it up as far as the crease with your brush. Use the same technique below the lower lashline to get that smokey effect all around the eye.
