If you have any crazy coloured blushers here's how to use them

Crazy coloured blushers in shades of pink, orange and red turn up from time to time in a makeup set or palette. We hate waste, so here's how we use them.

NARS has just released its stunning new Man Ray limited edition collection. It is truly stunning. As I played with my products from the collection, I stumbled across 'Intensely' the orange blush. It definitely falls into the 'crazy coloured blushers' category and it got me thinking. Would anybody actually choose to purchase this blush? Would everyone appreciate it in all its orange glory? I really don't think so. But knowledge is power and in this case the only thing that might make you look at this beauty in a different light.

NARS Blush Intensely €31.50

This picture doesn't do justice to the bright orange tone of NARS Intensely. It is a true orange colour. To look at it you might think 'that's not going to look flattering, on anybody'. I disagree. This type of colour works really well with a tan. There's no denying that we love tan in Ireland and many of us sport a bronzed look on many a night out. A peachy tint to your cheeks will pick up your tan and give you a sun-kissed glow even in winter.

You just need to apply a little to the apples of your cheeks and blend it softly towards your hairline. If you use just a little it will give you the most gorgeous peachy glow. Just go easy with the brush and don't pick up too much product.

The second way to use this blush is as the most divine and versatile warm, orange eyeshadow. Use it as a transition colour, or to blend in with your brown eyeshadow to warm up the colour. Or use it all over your eyelid for a pop of wearable colour. Who doesn't love warm browns and golds and autumn colours on their eyes these days? This blusher, used as an eyeshadow will transform every neutral palette of browns and golds that you have.

So wake up and smell the orange. Don't be scared of it, embrace it. Open your mind to using one makeup product on multiple areas of the face and become your own makeup artist.
