We've seen a few celebridees changing their hair colour from platinum blonde to raven lately. Jordan and Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud have been recent converts, while others have dabbled on and off with dark hair in the past - take a look at Madonna and her ever changing moods.

Jordan has ditched the jet black, the dominatrix makeup and gone back to her bleached roots and fluffier image. Sarah Harding, while still dark will probably do the same. She looks stunning - but it's just not her is it?

Hairdressers always advise you to stick to two shades above and below your natural colour because these are the shades that will suit you and suit the colouring you already have. Like many dark haired girls I went blonde for a while - and was horrified at how washed out I looked every morning and how much makeup it took to make me look presentable. I went back to my natural colour and haven't really dabbled much since.

Can you imagine Katy Perry with platinum blonde hair? Or Gwen Stefani with Dita Von Teese style locks?

Do you think shades close to natural suit best? Or have you had the complete opposite experience and found that a drastic change of colour has transformed your life? Tell all!
