We're forever being asked about the best sort of base for wear when you know you'll be snapped: all too often, luminizing products or those with sunscreen in 'em are best avoided. Light-reflecting particles that make skin look dewy in natural light behave bizarrely under flash, and the zinc oxides used in SPF can have a similarly ghostly effect. Not a problem, Revlon say, with their new PhotoReady foundation, which is designed specifically for that reason.

Not having had a chance to try it myself yet, on paper it sounds promising. In eight shades from Vanilla to Cappuccino, it's €19. Intense testing under all sorts of light conditions and high-def camera lenses mean Revlon are confident that this oil- and fragrance-free makeup will deliver on its promise. PhotoChromatic pigments bend and reflect light, minimising the appearance of flaws, while still delivering a decent SPF of 20 and that all-important illumination we love so much.

So, who's this for? A full coverage claim plus the oil-free spec makes me point directly towards those with sebum-prone skins. I don't generally go for oil-free foundations as my skin is dry, but if yours is on the opposite end of the spectrum then this could be a winner. Likewise, brides will probably like the sound of this a lot.
