Yum: Bobbi Brown Velvet Plum Eye Palette

Now, I'm not quite sure what this little feller is doing being called the Velvet Plum Eye Palette, because um, it's brown. But that's not a bad thing - it's got gorgeous browns, they're just not plums.

This is a limited reissue of an older Velvet Plum palette that's on counter now and is a really good bet if you can't get your hands on Chrome - or equally don't want to. This is the stealth bomb in Bobbi Brown's pre-Christmas launches. Overlooked a bit because of the sheer size and spectacularity (a new word, I just invented) of the Chrome Palette, this is a great buy and is bound to last on counter for longer too. It's not as well priced Sterling to Euro though - €50 as opposed to £34, but I'm really liking it.

Four big shadow sizes (three mattes and one metallic) take you from day to evening - use the two on the left for the office and the two on the right at night and you're set. Bone, far left, is a brilliant neutral and I use it daily all over my lid before adding coloured shadows. The sparkly shade third from left is also gorgeous and surprisingly dark on the lid. It's joined by espresso, found in a lot of Bobbi's palettes and a good bet for lining or adding depth to a contoured look. The two combined make a gorgeous smokey eye.

All in all, I think this is ace.
