Get your square dance on: The next big shoe trend has emerged
By Miriam Burke  | Oct 4, 2017

Shoe trends always start out bad. Those Gucci furry loafers were the most hideous things to ever walk this earth - and then there were knock-offs in Penneys.

This is a shoe trend that can be adopted right now, if you want. Just get yerself over to the Lone Star State and pick yerself up some cowboy boots.

Yes, cowboy boots are entering the mainstream and trust us, everyone will soon be wearing them. They've been slithering their way into the lives of people who don't live on ranches for quite some time. Take this Insta pic from blogger Marijana Batinic. So far, so fashion. But look at the feet. Those boots are cool. I'd wear them with a mini skirt and t-shirt. Look closer. They're Goddamn cowboy boots, and I've seen that style on the high street as recently as this year.

Those ones above are particularly cowboy-y but think about all the 'western' influenced ankle boots you can still buy in the shops.

This season they're getting even closer. Look at this pair from Topshop. Very like the ones Marijana is wearing in the pic. Very - but not quite - cowboy.

Topshop €117

That's just a hint of things to come, however. Check our Jennifer Connelly, Louis Vuitton muse, in pure, unfiltered boots fit for a square dancing queen.

OK, so they're not entirely suitable for breaking horses or what have you, but they're cowboy boots alright. Jennifer's show trend abilities are not to be sniffed at. She was the one who pioneered the lace-up chunky heel boot for LV a couple of seasons ago. We're wearing them now, but she's one or even two steps ahead.

How long do you think it will be till we're all wearing cowboy boots like Jen?
