Choose your weapon - the best powder brushes around

When it comes to makeup brushes, we have tried and tested just about all of them and we know which ones make the grade. These are our favourite powder brushes of all time.

A great powder brush is extremely versatile. If you find one that is just the right size it will do more than just set your makeup. The ideal powder brush, in our opinion, should be suitable for all the powders. You should be able to leave the house with just one powder brush in your bag that will cover all bases. It should be suitable for setting your foundation, and applying bronzer and blusher and highlighter too.

There are a few brushes that I use religiously. I use one of these powder brushes for every makeup application I do, and I only need to carry one of these in my makeup bag. That's the best quality about all of these brushes - they can do everything. I use it first to do my powder, then to contour with my bronzer. Next, I apply blusher and finally, I highlight my cheekbones. All with my one trusty brush.

The brush needs to have a few qualities to qualify as one of the afore-mentioned perfect powder brushes. It needs to have lots of tightly packed bristles. It needs to have a dome-shaped head. Ideally, the bristles shouldn't be too long. If they are about an inch and a half in length they will pick up and apply just the right amount of powder.

So here are our very favourite, multi-tasking, wonderful powder brushes.
