How to have your neglected feet sandal-ready this summer

Feet aren't pretty. Sure there are those lucky few who are genetically blessed who's feet are okay, but even then they're still not great.

Then there's also the fact that our feet are probably one part of the body to which we give the least upkeep. We might paint our toenails for a night out but that's about the extent of it.

Here are some treatments that can save your feet and have you feeling confident and sandal-ready in no time:

Medical pedicure

If you have the cash and time to spare this is your best bet. It is something far beyond the pedicure that you are used to. Your feet and nails will be filled, callouses and corns removed. They will be brought back to an unimaginable softness.

These are a bit pricey coming in at over €100 on average, but totally worth it.

At home foot peel

This is a bit more budget friendly. You can buy at home foot masks and peels for only around a fiver in most chemists. They are simply a bag type thing, that you put over your foot and leave on for 30 minutes.

After a few days, you will notice that your foot skin starts to peel off leaving a softer layer in its place. A bit gross but works a treat.

At home foot soak

There are plenty of lotions and potions you can buy to save your feet. However, one tried and tested treatment is an oatmeal foot soak. Simply grind up some regular porridge oats and add them to a basin of hot water and sit back and relax. Some essential oils like lavender and vanilla are nice added too.

You can also have a go at your feet with a pumice stone first to remove any dead skin and make them softer.
