Ellen DeGeneres Makes Amazing Speech About Being 'Unique'

Ellen brought the tone of the Teen Choice Awards all the way up with her acceptance speech for Choice Comedian at last night's awards in LA.

Taking to the stage at USC’s Galen Center, DeGeneres used her time to crack wise a little but also to throw out some life advice to all the teens in attendance and watching at home, telling them:

"I wanna say also it feels good to be chosen but there was a time in my life that I was not chosen. I was the opposite of chosen because I was different, and I think I wanna make sure that everyone knows that what makes you different right now, makes you stand out later in life. So you should be proud of being different, proud of who you are."

"The most important thing I wanna say is just really embrace who you are because being unique is very, very important and fitting in is not all that matters. It’s being unique and being who you are."

She also made hearts a little weaker by pointing out that it was her seven year wedding anniversary with Portia de Rossi, giving a shoutout to her and saying: "What an amazing day this is".

Oh Ellen, never leave us. Or if you have to, please make a robot version of you that can live on forever on our screens.
