Elsa Most Popular Baby Names Again Thanks To 'Frozen'

The incredible smash hit Disney movie has generated tons of money, piles of merchandise and a sequel is already in the works, but perhaps its greatest achievement has been to restore the name Elsa to its former glory.

It has been 97 years since it was this popular, but for the first time since 1917, the list of the top 500 baby names in the U.S. once again contains Elsa, and it can pretty much all be attributed to Frozen.

Last year, 1,131 newborn baby girls were given that name by their parents, making it the 286th most popular moniker in the country, according to the data analysed by The New York Times

Other names from the franchise haven't seen a similar upturn, as Anna remained as popular as ever, sitting in 34th place on the list. However, Olaf has seen a slight increase, with 22 kids in 2014 getting that name, as opposed to just 9 the previous year.
