X Factor group has left the competition

Following the controversy over the last few days with Louis Walsh's group Brooks Way, it's been announced this evening that the pair have left the competition.

It comes following the suspension of the duo from the live shows this weekend following domestic abuse allegations against Josh Brooks, which he has denied.

In a statement, Brooks said: "Due to events in my personal life I've decided that it's best not to be on the show at this time. While not everything that has been claimed is true I would like to apologise to everyone involved."

It's expected that a new act will join the competition as a replacement but details will be announced in due course.
