Get your toes out for the lads: ankle strap sandals are where it's at

If you've shied away from ankle straps in the past because of the unfortunate "cankle" effect they lovingly bestowed upon even the slenderest of us, fear no more.  Sandal technology has evolved apace and this generation of strappy shoes is much less likely to dig in.

They're classy and super stylish - but the best bit? You can actually walk in them because the strap holds the shoe securely on and means you'll feel steady on the streets.  I wouldn't try dancing backwards to Shakira in them though.  I would never advise that.

I'd even take this pair to the office.

Blue is a standout colour for sandals this season: there are tons of shades and shapes in the shops.  With everything from baby blue to topaz you'll easily find a pair that will look just as good with jeans as with your favourite dress.
