If you've shied away from ankle straps in the past because of the unfortunate "cankle" effect they lovingly bestowed upon even the slenderest of us, fear no more.  Sandal technology has evolved apace and this generation of strappy shoes is much less likely to dig in.

They're classy and super stylish - but the best bit? You can actually walk in them because the strap holds the shoe securely on and means you'll feel steady on the streets.  I wouldn't try dancing backwards to Shakira in them though.  I would never advise that.
